Best place to waste a ton of money without ever being checked is healthcare. Everybody thinks nothing else is more important and even the notion of cutting expenses will infuriate folks.

I have a friend complaining about some of the cuts. I asked her, how do we know they were doing productive work or work at all? I don’t like how disorganized the cuts appear to be but just because we have x number of people doesn’t mean we need x number of people.

They only have two years - I think it cannot be done orderly. Company I worked for had a reorganization, a lot of people were fired. The organization will have to fix itself, but it is definitely going to hurt. They will have to combine this with deregulation though.

I do think what Milei does in Argentina is a more thought out plan, but maybe DOGE is similar and we don't know all details.

You want to cut medical corruption and financial bloat?

Drag the insurance companies out into the public square and gut them. All of them. They serve no function other than to insert themselves between you and hospitals and demand money from both.

Start your own insurance company and try to do better instead of complaining.

Make a plan, gather funds - you don't need to kill people to improve society. This is something almost everybody is complaining about - from the left to the right. Why doesn't anybody step up and does it better?

Maybe because these companies are not evil and it is just how the government has regulated stuff?

This is the irony. There are places where progressives, moderates, conservatives and liberals all agree and this is one of them.

Sure, everybody likes cheap stuff - i don't believe the 'companies are evil' narrative. Usually there is a good reason for it and often government is preventing competition.

I don’t think companies are evil by default.

What I find ironic is the left complains about wages then when wages go up, they complain that cost of went up.

I also hate the billionaires comment. Very few people make a billion much less several billions per year. They confuse wealth with income and it’s sad. To have that little economic literacy is concerning. It’s why they think taxing the wealthy would fix everything when it wouldn’t. We spend to much money which is the problem.

Millions dead because that moron ignored the corrupt system... I'm rooting for the flu this time.

Wait a few more months and the bird flu pandemic will decide without the shadow of a doubt whether Trump gutted medical research or cleaned up a corrupt system...
