Our national debt is emerging as the greatest threat to national security
Hard disagree. The greatest threat is the constitutional crisis created by Trump attempting to exceed his authority and overrun the judicial and legislative branches.
If they want to balance the budget, why don't they try cutting all the subsidies and contracts to billionaires' companies? Giving billionaires tax breaks is also not helping.
…yet Congress refuses to follow the lead of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), run by Elon Musk, to make reforms to government spending programs. The fact that the Senate has rejected ideas to use the budget process to cut spending is a bad sign going forward.
But aren’t DOGE cuts primarily being used to offset tax breaks to high income people who should be taxed higher anyways?
Well yeah, that's the "balance" everyone is so excited about isn't it? Heads I win, tails you lose, just as nature intended it.
