  • Extremist Influencers: Neo-Nazi influencers on the social media platform Telegram created a network of chats and channels where they stoked racist, antisemitic and homophobic hate.
  • Targeted Teen: The influencers, known as the Terrorgram Collective, targeted a teen in Slovakia and groomed him for three years to kill.
  • Terrorgram Network: Juraj Krajčík subscribed to at least 49 extremist Telegram chats and channels, many of them nodes in the Terrorgram network, before he killed two people at an LGBTQ+ bar.

These people didn't go away. Some of them are even probably here on Lemmy, watching for anyone with a weakness they can exploit to try to recruit them.

A bunch of them were arrested, but a bunch of them weren't. Stay vigilant. Don't tolerate these kinds of people.

If only parents could monitor their teens use of technology. Oh wait they can and should. Funny all the small government people shouting about showing and verifying government ids and won't someone think of the children.

Unless you build trust with the kid. So that if the child is having disturbing thoughts, you'd be the first person they'd find unconditional help from, and that in really bad cases - you'd help arranging professional therapy for them.
