I like the idea, but really dislike the name. Makes it sound like it should follow in USA's footsteps which exactly what we don't want.

I think European Union still sounds better, it's a marriage.
Sounds a bit stale. Maybe come up something different. How about
E U R O P E A N E M P I R E
How’s that?
European Federation, how's that feddit?
Much better in this new imperial age.
I agree but I guess the name is supposed to be catchy
Hi how did you come across this petition, is it legit ? See my other remarks.
Ok, EU, we are fucking not calling it US(E).
I like the idea, but I don't think it's going to happen. People aren't ready to give up national sovereignty.
Germany for one is already a federal country. Meaning that while a lot of things are done by the federal government but quite a few state-internal things are done by the states themselves, such as education for one.
This could be done for the EU as well
Depends on what form that takes, and how gradual.
This post would fit better into !europe@feddit.org or !europeanfederalists@lemmy.world
I just want to bring this up because this community is about discussing European products/services and we don't want the discussion to turn into nationalism/euronationalism.
Signed!
