As I understand, an adtech company bought a majority stake in StartPage in 2019, and though they apparently can't use that stake to force privacy-threatening changes, I personally find that acquisition disconcerting. Probably not enough to say it's unsafe to use, but enough that I prefer some of the other options out there.

What's the best email to use? Anyone have suggestions? usability? I haven't changed because I just end up with decision overload / paralysis.

I don't think it's a paid browser (there are a few of those though) it's a paid search engine.
Orion Browser is paid.
I'm confused, I use Orion all the time on both iPhone and Mac and have never paid.
Ahh you're right, I take it back, Orion is free, Orion+ is paid if you want to support the mission.

Signal is too pedestrian. Without decentralization, your chat isnβt private enough as you donβt control the meta or the servers.
And what's just as important - not as resilient.
There are many ways to make things resilient. Centralizing isnβt one of them.
