I started the grieving process once RIF announced it'd be shutting down, but it actually felt good nuking the history of my 7-year-old 99k/190k account before deleting it.
Fuck spez, the future is in the fediverse.
Memorial to "rif is fun for Reddit" Android app, aka "reddit is fun", shut down after June 30, 2023

I was on for 12 years, it became a bit of an addiction, too be sure. Lots of smiles, so much to learn. Some trolly experiences I could have done without. When the IPO thing came about, and the API change pushing out 3rd party apps, that got all too annoying fast. And I've long been an advocate of open source software, etc., to it's better in the Fediverse. Yay!
And I'm with ya, grief is a big part of the experience at the moment. Hang in there, it gets better.
Perhaps it would be a good idea to open a Reddit museum on the fediverse so people in the future can read the stories of broken arms, jolly ranchers, the Swamps of Dagobah, Streetlamp LeMoose, Kevin, and Rome Sweet Rome.
