Initially I used my commercial bevel gauge, but the blade was long enough to interfere with the swing of the brace, plus it needed to be taped down for stability.
This gizmo I made from scrap should solve both of those problems.

Love it, and nice work dressing up the end of the blade!

I’ve had the same problem, and also can’t really trust that the bevel is sitting square on the surface as my chair bottoms are usually scrub-planed.

Nice! It's a nice tool to have for non square drilling. Just add a mirror on a stand to make sure you're aligned both ways
