I've been using ChatGPT for roleplay. So far, it's been amazing at DnD-type games, both as the storyteller and as the player. It can weave immersive storylines when it's in control, and provide compelling arguments for its actions as a player, which impresses me.

I've been using the custom instructions to store data like inventory, money, skills, etc.

The commenter is probably referring to OpenAI's recent custom instructions update which allows ChatGPT to consider information across all queries.
