Noob question here.

I am running proxmox with few virtual machines. When I count together all the RAM allocated to the machines, it ends at 48GB.

However, the proxmox summary page reports 52.33GB used out of 64GB, even though 3 out of the 8 VMs are powered off completely and the rest is set for balooning memory and together end up at less than 40GB.

Is there something I am missing?

Why cut zfs RAM usage?

Depending on the size and type of disks you have you could manually set the max RAM it's allowed to allocate for ZFS ARC. My Proxmox box has a RAIDZ1 of three 800gb SSDs, it didn't need to be scoffing 48gb for ARC.
