Peertube
A free software to take back control of your videos
Peertube is an open, federated alternative to Youtube without advertising or tracking. On this site, you can find a good Peertube instance, with good rules, good moderation and most importantly a friendly community.
@booteille @peertube Hello! I've only tried to use it a couple of times but the tool at https://joinpeertube.org/instances seems to give a very limited number of results. I've been assuming it's broken since clearly there are a lot more instances out there than listed, but I might just be misunderstanding how it's supposed to work.
@booteille @peertube Even the widest of possible searches still only turns up 25 results maximum (with no way to sort them that I can find).

Maybe I'm doing it wrong?
For anyone reading this thread in the future:
- A couple of devloggers are already on diode.zone although at time of writing that instance wasn't taking new signups
- I did get a couple of DMs about invite-only instances too, which seemed legit and stable enough but they just weren't for me
- In the absence of other compelling instances, I checked with the admin of MakerTube and they confirmed gamedev counts as "making". So I just stuck with there in the end and we'll see how it goes🤷♀️
What is a game devlog?
@jeena Think videos about the process of developing video games, basically. Following a project from beginning to (hopefully) release.
@teahands Personally, devlogs are making; I wouldn't see them as out of place on makertube. But a devlog-based instance would be neato to watch!
@cariad Yeah tbh my fibre crafts are a bit out of place there already (despite definitely counting as making, in my mind!) so I reckon they'd accept me. But it feels precarious putting both on the same server, so just wanted to see what else is out there.
