Place to post and discuss HEAVY METAL!

RULES (MUST READ):

Please keep things relevant to heavy metal (this includes nwobhm, and any songs predominately heavy metal, THIS IS NOT A GENERAL METAL COMMUNITY! Any metal which does not fit this particular genre may be suited to other communities listed below). While we understand it is subjective, if a moderator believes a song to stray too far from heavy metal, it will likely be locked or removed. Please do not take this personally.
Please search before posting a song, do not repeat posts.
Friendly debate is encouraged.
When posting a song use the format of "Band - Song [FFO: band1, band2]". This just helps keep things uniform. The "FFO" (For Fans Of) section is optional. It is for lesser known bands. (Stole this idea from the Death Metal community).
No racist, sexist, blah blah blah... you get the idea. This is not the place to discuss sensitive matters.
No NSFW content (apart from songs/album covers. If they do include NSFW content, please mark the posts as such).
Post in English only (obviously you can post songs in different languages).

First of all, welcome!

If you haven't already, please read the sidebar for the rules etc. If possible, alongside posting a generic YouTube or Bandcamp link to a song, if you could post links to other services you use (such as Spotify) then it makes it easier for people to listen on their preferred platform. This isn't essential, but I think it makes it easier for everyone to access the music and listen the way they want to.

An alternate post structure myself and @Myr@lemmy.world use, which I think looks the nicest, uses the image post format (with the album cover as the image) and links to the relevant platforms at the bottom of the text body. See one of my posts for reference. Again, not essential, just helps keep things uniform.

And if you want to be a real saint, you could remove unnecessary parameters from links 😉 (though I don't expect everyone to go to that much trouble).
