As per the subject, can anyone recommend something affordable? I found 24 port Catalyst 3650 but they go not cheaper than £200.

Also Aruba S2500, though recently ICX6450 have been cheaper. Both come in either 24 or 48 port flavors, with or without PoE.

Juniper EX4200 has the nice feature that even the non-PoE models support 8 ports of PoE. A bit louder than the above two, though.

Juniper EX3300 is probably better. With 4 SFP+

+1 for the S2500. 24 or 48 PoE ports, plus up to 4 SFP+

Mikrotik CRS328 24P-4S+RM

I have one - very quiet and power efficient.

This.

It's a nice switch. Was an upgrade from a Zyxel.

Can it do layer3 between vlans?

Sorry for hijack the thread. What about routers? 10gbe downlink and uplink that support opnsense? I’ve seen a lot of n100 2.5gbe around 100$, would be awesome to see 10gbe nics or SFP+.

Mikrotik CSS610-8P-2S+IN - $200
8x Gigabit PoE-out ports and 2x 10 Gigabit SFP+ ports.

Miktrotik CRS328-24P-4S+RM - $500
24 port Gigabit PoE with 4x 10Gbps SFP+ ports.

Grandstream GWN7811P and 7812P. 2xSFP+ and 8 gigabit POE or 4xSFP+ and 16 gigabit POE, respectively.

Cisco 3750X with the 10G NIM is also an option if you only need 2 uplinks. It's getting a bit dated though, but can be had for cheap.

Do you need 15, 30, 60 or 90w poe?

[–] bonaventura84@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

30W should be enough, I have AP and couple of cameras, each consuming not more that few watts

Powercoonect 5524p does layer 3 and has 10g if iirc.
