The moment of the drone explosion in Moscow was broadcast during the Russian rowing championship.

@DI_Ukraine, meanwhile, has warned Moscow residents about an increase in drone attacks. The air defense of the Russian capital is unable to protect its citizens in the ongoing war, a representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Andrii Yusov, told the Kyiv Post.

"The concept of security is becoming increasingly distant from the citizens of Moscow," he added.

Don't worry, folks! The tankies from hexbear will be here soon to explain why this is all fake.

With Lemmygrad hot on their heels!

[–] awwwyissss@lemm.ee 8 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I've stopped recommending Lemmy to friends because of those two instances

[–] snooggums@kbin.social 25 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You can always recommend they join, but block those two instances. Every place on the internet has trolls to ignore.

[–] MossyFeathers@pawb.social 4 points 1 year ago (2 children)

You can't block instances, or at least if you can, I haven't figured out how to.

Kbin, Sync, Thunder, etc. all have various levels of blocking (e.g. keywords, user, community, instance, etc.)

[–] snooggums@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago

You can on kbin and I thought some of the lemmy apps were adding that feature.

Seriously, they sometimes make me regret making an account here. It's tiring.

Try making a post in your instance asking your admins to defederate from those places, if they refuse for some reason, pack your bags to a different instance that will. That's the beauty of federation ^^

Or how this unchecked aggression from Ukraine (which was really just the US and UK in a Scooby-Doo villain mask all along!) will leave poor, defenseless, peaceful Russia no choice but to trigger a worldwide nuclear holocaust.

[–] ProdigalFrog@slrpnk.net 16 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Did y'all not defederate from them? My instance did.

We definitely need to defederate some instances. They try to downvote every comment and post of mine with bot accounts. Coincidentally, during Russian daytime. 🤔

sopuli.xyz has defederated both Hexbear and Lemmygrad: https://sopuli.xyz/instances

[–] awwwyissss@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago

Thank you. Might move over there instead.

[–] CurlyMoustache@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

But then they whine and cry about freedom of speech! Even though the whole point of owning an instance is to be able to decide who to federated/not federate with 🙄

I never understood why some communists would defend a fascist regime. Fascism is their literal arch enemy.

[–] barsoap@lemm.ee 8 points 1 year ago

> implying tankies are communists and not rando cultists

[–] Snowpix@lemmy.ca 12 points 1 year ago

They've been brigading like crazy.

[–] theodewere@kbin.social 24 points 1 year ago (2 children)

the moment they see that Putin can't keep them safe, it's over for him

[–] svartkaffi@fedia.io 21 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Upvoted, but people did not turn agains Hitler even during the massive massive bombing raids on major during cities.

The upvote is for hope though.

it's a good point, and it's not helpful to be too optimistic and so on.. but, i really don't think we can compare the two, especially in terms of their respective abilities to inspire their fellow countrymen.. Russia is considerably less secure that way..

there weren't a lot of mercenary armies riding around challenging the Wehrmacht..

[–] phoneymouse@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I hope that’s the case and that they don’t actually feel anger for the attack and more committed to the war in Ukraine.

[–] theodewere@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

all of the zealots are riding around with Prigozhin or dead.. the smart ones got out.. all that's left are cowards.. they won't protect Putin.. this is the problem with the way he does things..

the thing we learned here int he US in the 40s and 50s was that nobody is ever really loyal to a gangster.. and that's all he's ever been..

They put in their best rowing times that day

[–] AllahFucksKids@fedia.io 0 points 1 year ago

All they had to do was put their asses in the water. When that explosion went off the air forced out of their simultaneously puckering assholes would've propelled them to at LEAST 88 MPH and safely back to the future.
