Diets are all a mental Issue.
I'm half way to my overall goal, I've been fat all my life. It's not until I genuinely though I should lose weight that I put in the time to figure out my shortcomings with dieting and to stick to my activities.
If a diet overwhelms you slow down. If something fails, figure out why it's not working. DON'T ASSUME! My stupid ass thought I had mental mental reactions to not eating takeout. Turns out during my casual diet attempts I was eating like 800 calories a day.
I stopped attempting to jog, now I've been going on daily walks for the past 3 months
I stopped trying to curb my impulses. Now Ive learnt about nutrition and the basics of the calories I eat, I order take out conscious of my intake
Literally the only issue I've had is stressing about how much stuff to keep on top of and most of my decisions for my diet are based on reducing it (quick meals, minimal cleaning, keeping to routines)
If you're getting upvotes in this thread you're a lemming that believes what everyone else does and you only allow yourself to consider socially acceptable ideas. Your beliefs are based on social proof, not introspection or critical thinking.
Another one: about 50% of the population are destined to be poor wagies and there's nothing you can do to help them.
This doesn't answer the question... but it's my 1,001st comment on Lemmy, what the hell.
This thread exemplifies why I love Lemmy so much. It's because we have so many original, free thinkers. We don't always get along, but you can be sure you'll find plenty of brand new ideas when you scroll through these threads.
Human life begins at some point after conception but before birth. Therefore, there comes a point in pregnancy at which abortion ends a human life.
It feels like as soon as Biden got into office a lot of people on the left threw their BLM signs in the garbage and stopped caring. Now I'm starting to see more and more on the left detach themselves from people of color and go right back to the white worship they were doing before. Every single time a person of color is now a lead in anything there's just nothing but endless controversy and both conservatives and liberals just complain
But put a white person in a lead? Nothing but sunshine and "we're starting to heal" nonsense
Really sick of it now, and it's completely soured me on wanting to vote again
