There are societal pressures from teachers, parents, school/work family schedules, and a desire for privacy that pushes young children into wanting to stay up late. There are some complicated and strong (but not necessarily good) reasons why someone might want to stay up late, and it could be resulting in unhealthy wake/sleep decisions.
