One time I was at Starbucks and the lady asked was I in line, I said yes. She made an off hand comment to her friend “i would have thought that she would be in school by now” this was when I was in college. Before lockdown, this lady carded me for beer and she looked up and down my ID more than 2 times. My friend said “can’t believe it, right?” Then nowadays when I go shopping, I just don’t get welcomed or greeted like other customers, and no eye contact at all as if I’m being a bother to them. Sometimes, workers would watch me as if I’m going to steal stuff. It’s typical for kids in this city to steal things. Most people don’t really keep an eye for older folks.
