Why do we need github alternatives? Isn't githuv already good?

This is a weird take in this context. It's a platform for hosting open source software. There is no privacy to speak of, the whole point is that it's out in the open
Now using it for enterprise or a private repo is a different discussion, but it's not clear that that's what's we're focused on here
I like having as many private repos as I'd like, its's a small plus that microsoft can't scrape my code for their silly AI products
How come i didn't know that... guess it's time to use my anonaddy alias instead of giving them my proton email
It bans projects, developers, trains AI on this code.
how about gitlab as a self-hosted alternative?
