Home Video (VHS, DVD, Blu-ray, 4k)

Hello, UKFilmNerd here.

I found this community when I first started exploring Lemmy after Reddit decided to fuck over third party access to it's site.

Home Video was created by user Emperor. He was pleased with my constant posting of home video news and offered me the chance to be a moderator as well.

We both come from the instance Feddit.UK which has had server issues recently. Several months ago there was an issue and nobody could get hold of the sole admin Tom. New admins were luckily appointed to keep things going but they only had web access to the server.

Unfortunately Feddit.UK has fallen over again and has been offline in the last couple of days. Apparently the database has exceeded the available space and caused it to crash.

Several of us want to move to a server that will be regularly maintained, not relying on someone who's abandoned the project.

This new server is currently in testing and hopefully will be live soon. When it is, I will create a new community and ask you all to come over and continue to contribute and talk about all the latest home video news.

Obviously if Feddit.UK goes down again, we won't be able to moderate this community and it will actually die anyway.
