That's the moment where you place some neat flowers in front of the door and throw a toxic gas potion or caustic brew or wand of corrosion into the center of the room. Or other ways of rigging the room since they’ll keep pretending being a chest until they take damage.
I had a projecting weapon so did not have to touch these directly.
