See attached image for example (not my post). The other day, I posted something and received an error (can't post or something along the lines). I was returned to my draft and pressed post again. This time, the post went through. However, it now turned out to be posted twice, despite the initial error message. Why does this happen so frequently with Lemmy?

This used to happen on Reddit all the time. It's a matter of error handling correctly, either on the Lemmy instance itself, or the app you're using to interact with it. This is a growing pain that will hopefully sorted out in the future.

people lagging the pressing the submit buttons a few times

I see doubles a lot, but recently I saw one duplicate like ten times. I think Lemmy lacks sanity checks to keep that from happening. It will probably get fixed at some point.

Was seeing this a lot this morning. One post was there 11 times.

I have been guilty of this:

It happens when I have written a post or a comment, and then submit it. If the server load is high, it does not get submitted right away and load the result, so I am left wondering if it worked at all.

Press submit again, ah yes now it worked. But in fact the first submission also worked, I just didn't see it, so now there are two, and I don't even know!

With the amazing performance improvement launched today, I would guess that this sort of problem will ich be rare from now on.

The Two Generals Problem

Not sure whether this was definitely the issue, but interesting nonetheless.
