  • Prep: hot shower
  • Brush: Yaqi Cashmere Synthetic Shaving Brush, Dandelion Green Handle, 24mm
  • Razor: Gillette Flare Tip Superspeed A1 (1955)
  • Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (2)
  • Lather: Barrister & Mann - Leviathan Shaving Soap
  • Post Shave: Barrister & Mann - Leviathan - Aftershave Balm

I'm really getting down to the end of the Leviathan balm, having to bang it upside down against my hand to get some out. I do kinda wish they had a different container than the pump bottle. I don't know what a better alternative would be, but it's frustrating not being able to get it all out.

Pumps are the best for balm 100% IMO.

What’s your method for getting the last bits out at the end? Or do you just not bother about getting every last drop?

[–] walden@sub.wetshaving.social 3 points 9 months ago

Yeah, if something is frustratingly empty, I rinse it out and toss it in the recycling. You could transfer it to another container that you can scoop with your finger if you want every last bit?

  • Razor: Razorock Hawk V2
  • Blade: Feather AC Pro [8]
  • Lather: Moon - Bixby - Soap
  • Post Shave: Moon - Bixby - Aftershave

Good shave. I feel bad for this goofy razor that I never use. It works well and I usually get a good shave but it is awkward to use.

I am really happy with this scent. The splash feels nice and sticks around for quite awhile.

Warm

  • Brush: Stirling Soap Co. Zenith Boar Brush 31mm × 50mm
  • Razor: Mongoose Razors Alumigoose
  • Blade: Feather Professional
  • Lather: Stirling Soap Co. Friends to the End
  • Aftershave: Stirling Soap Co. Friends to the End
  • Fragrance: Stirling Soap Co. Friends to the End
  • Talc: Pinaud Clubman Finest Powder

Nice and warm scent today. I enjoy trickholing it, but I should start thinking about pairings for it.

The Moar Stirnith and the Alumigoose continue to treat me well. This was a particularly enjoyable shave 😊

Is the mongoose your daily driver?

[–] djundjila@sub.wetshaving.social 3 points 9 months ago

Not at all, it's on loan. I've started using it only this Monday.

It's a great razor, though!

I'm surprised you bought the FttE fragrance. I'd have thought you would just use Baccarat Rouge with it. The Moar Stirnith is quite cool. Looking forward to comparisons with the Moar Boar once the new one is more broken in.

you would just use Baccarat Rouge

It's my wife's bottle 🙂

Looking forward to comparisons with the Moar Boar once the new one is more broken in.

Count on it coming😊

  • Brush: Summer Break Soaps w/Maggard 28mm Silvertip Badger
  • Razor: Blackland Era - Level 3 SB
  • Blade: Bolzano Superinox (German) (1)
  • Lather: Spearhead Shaving - Seaforth! Heather - Soap
  • Post Shave: Brut - Splash On
  • Post Shave: Nivea Sensitive Balm

I really thought today was tub-kill day for Heather, but it looks like it'll be tomorrow.

This might be my favorite hardware setup. I love this brush, and the Era with a Bolzo is really good.

  • Brush: Wild West Brushworks Deep Pearl 26mm Sweet Spot Badger

  • Razor: Koraat 6/8" Full Hollow

  • Lather: PannaCrema - Nuàvia Verde - Soap

  • Toner: Thayers - Rose - Toner

  • Aftershave: Spearhead Shaving Company - Seaforth! Heather - Aftershave

  • Fragrance: Floris of London - Elite - Eau de Toilette

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

The PannaCrema soap base is serviceable. A good quality commercial, vegetal, shaving soap, I'd say. OTOH, the scent of Nuàvia Verde is extraordinary. It is the brightest, freshest, fougère I have. Seaforth! Heather is close but a little darker/heavier. A very enjoyable shave today.
