I think there's a big difference in addressing a group as dudes and adressing an individual as dude. Dudes being used gender neutrally seems common, but I rarely see dude used to adress women. Aside from my shitty uncle, who calls his daughters guy and dude cause he wishes he had a son and is a terrible parent.
I don't use guys or dudes to address my friends qhen transfems are present, sometimes it's hard finding a substitute word but generally folks works and if not it's not like it's a big deal anyways. I haven't asked them whether they're comfortable with me addressing them either in groups or solo as guys or dudes because I don't want to put the responsibility for my behavior on them, you know? So I just don't do it
