It's really not far off, Reddit is on borrowed time and so is twitter and the rest....

[โ€“] Pencilnoob@lemmy.one 1 points 2 years ago

Yep, other than ending up at Reddit because I'm searching for something, which I'll call passive use. My active use of posting and commenting is entirely on Lemmy

[โ€“] StellarExtract@vlemmy.net 1 points 2 years ago

Basically! I still haven't found equivalents for everything I was following on Reddit since my account there is 13 years old, but I have found more than I expected. Just since late June when I started lurking here it seems to have grown significantly. I suspect there's a higher proportion of longtime Redditors who have left recently since we've seen it abandon the principles it was founded on.

I think I accidentally opened reddit once, trying to get an answer from a google search. I'm done with Reddit.

[โ€“] nic@lemm.ee 1 points 2 years ago

i still have a million things 'saved' on reddit i need to check out and there's that one niche sub i lurk that doesn't seem to want to migrate but other than that yeah this is it for me. lemm.ee + wefwef

[โ€“] moonwalker@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Yes. I haven't used reddit since I signed up for Lemmy.

[โ€“] notun@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

No, because the niche subs aren't alive here.

[โ€“] hardypart@feddit.de 1 points 2 years ago

100%. Lemmy is my new drug.

Once RiF went, so did I. After I replaced the app location in my phone with Connect, I didn't have any reason to spontaneously visit Reddit.

As long as I can use RES, I'll still visit when I'm searching for an answer.

Ditched! Didnโ€™t look back. Really enjoying lemmy and content is picking up.

I abandoned Reddit entirely when Sync shut down. Beehaw and Lemmy at large seem like a (mostly) great place and I'm here to stay.

I'm caught between the two at the moment.

My Reddit app (Relay) is still working for now so I'm using that to browse the few communities that don't have a foothold here yet.

Once Relay kicks the bucket I'll be forced to browse in Firefox with uBlock and that'll definitely cut down the amount of time I spend on there.

I started by switching to Lemmy, loved it, but as I read more about Kbin I decided to give it a shot to combine both content aggregation and microblogging in one account. A bit less polished than Lemmy and no mobile apps yet, although some are in early development and testing, but I've been really enjoying having quick access to the best of both worlds.

[โ€“] Lemmyatem@lemm.ee 1 points 2 years ago

Yes. Just hoping lots of communities get as popular as asklemmy and showerthoughts. Sad looking up some Reddit equivalents and seeing 2 subscribers and no posts.

[โ€“] Cyantraveller@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Yes, I still have to get some info from my reddit account before deleting everything, but soon.

[โ€“] martyc3@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

I was fairly new to Reddit but really liked the way it was organized by topic. It was easy for me to delete my few posts and then delete my account. So I'm now rooting for Lemmy and seeing nice progress. Also looked at Threads and was amazed how well it worked right out of the gate. It shows what a multi million dollar budget can accomplish.

[โ€“] mattchu_c@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Pretty much. I also started using squabbles.io the other day and am enjoying that so I think I'll be replacing Reddit with both.

[โ€“] ruckblack@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 years ago

Already have, reddit's just for getting decent results in Google

[โ€“] DundasStation@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 years ago

I'm bouncing around Reddit and Lemmy. Won't be contributing much to Reddit anymore and will be posting and commenting on Lemmy.

[โ€“] SecretPancake@feddit.de 1 points 2 years ago

Yes I deleted my Reddit account a week before Apollo was dead.

[โ€“] schwim@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Completely switched the day before 3d party access was monetized and crippled.

[โ€“] plumbercraic@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 2 years ago

Yep. This place is great.

[โ€“] Curious_Canid@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 years ago

I haven't deleted anything on reddit, but I have not been back there since the protests began. The Fediverse is my new home and I am happy to be here.

[โ€“] AnakinZX@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah trying to at least. Signed up on lemmy.world and using wefwef atm. Wont be using reddit for much longer I don't think

[โ€“] CoffeeBlood91@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 years ago

I refuse to go on Reddit, it sucks because it takes way longer to find the answers I search for.

[โ€“] JaCrispy@lemm.ee 1 points 2 years ago

I'm slowly transitioning over to Lemmy with the goal of eventually ditching Reddit.

[โ€“] indite@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 years ago

gock.........

[โ€“] HikerAdam@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 years ago

I'm using both. I have a few communities I'm growing and I'm posting as much as I can.

Reddit still is obviously more active, but I'm noticing that business is picking up here lately. Once it turns into a 60/40 or 50/50 in which one is more active I'll make the jump full time to Lemmy.

[โ€“] spacemanspiffy@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

I'm about 80% over to Lemmy myself. There's enough content here that I can doomscroll memes to my heart's content now. Reddit, I still end up on on my PC for a few more niche subreddits. Mobile though, I'm just sticking to wefwef/Lemmy until a good GTK client for Lemmy is available (both good options are still in beta right now).

[โ€“] elf@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 years ago

Who's Lenny? I'm waiting for Sync.
