I love Proton Privacy as a company, and most of their products.

However, I hate their current SoMe campaign of just ranting and bashing on every other company out there. It’s so negative.

Is more negativity really what we need? Can’t you just be positive and talk about all your good stuff - are you 100% sure the only way to grow is to do negative campaigns on everyone else?

I’d really love for you to be different ❤️

where do you even see this stuff? i dont think ive ever seen a proton ad, ever.

I have, unfortunately. The web site gives me obtrusive indismissable popups sometimes (in Firefox with uBO), and I've seen promotions within the Proton VPN app itself, which is something other Unlimited subscribers have experienced as well, though not all of us, for some confusing reason.

I made a post about it not long ago.

I followed them on Instagram for some reason 😅 I want to support them, but I don’t really like their message.

ahh. im old... i dont do those vid sites. i dont even use youtube

i really like their services but i dont really use their apps.. theyre basically an smtp handler and solid openvpn endpoint for me.

They also do it on their Mastodon account.

If they are pointing out legitimate flaws in their competitors, I wouldn't call it 'negativity'. A lot of commercials communicate the vilest shit while being 'positive' (look at the way gender stereotypes are used in many commercials). I don't know the exact commercials you are referring to, but just keep this in mind when analysing a commercial.

I'm seeing similar things from Tuta, where every tiny bit of tech news is used to drive another comparison between email providers, obviously always resulting in Tuta being the best.

Their language is just a liiittle bit too passionate for me to see these posts being neutral and objective

It's getting real tiring

Thank you for your feedback. Growing as an organization is most of the times thanks to the community. I'll do my best to pass along.

Same boat here, getting these adds and also follow them closely on other platforms. Also fed up with their marketing. I might come back to Proton in the future, but I personally feel like their services as well as their attitude is immature.

I don't think I've ever seen a Proton ad
