OMG. I can't believe I've never heard that before. It's amazing and so many things at once.
Birds really are the descendents of dinosaurs.

@tkk13909 according to the article it's because we didn't have enough kiwi before now to need it specifically. They were endangered.
New Zealand has a lot of Bird Rescue hospitals for birds in general and they treat kiwi. But the article says their nearest one at the moment was an hour's drive so they opened a new one focusing on kiwi specifically.
It's a good idea, hopefully they will become specialists.
