Should be happy with that. He did a great job!

Nico vibing to that music while sitting next to his broken-down Haas is gonna become a Meme for sure

[–] FrostyTrichs@sh.itjust.works 1 points 8 months ago

Nico is in it for the experience, whatever that may be.

Max has ascended to next level. Unbelievable really considering the level he already showed in the previous years.

We are witnessing greatness for sure. Part of me kind of just wishes he had more... personality? It's so hard for me to either love him or hate him right now. He kind of just blandly exists, quietly taking poles and wins.

It would be easier to root for him if he wasn't so boring, and would be more fun to root against him if he was a better antagonist.

Imagine Max dominating like he is, but having the persona and charisma of Zlatan. Love or hate that, you'd probably be entertained.

That is his personality. He is a guy who lives and breaths racing. When he is not racing(or Sim racing), he enjoys time with family and friends. He is just a simple guy from the looks of it. Football equivalent would be like messi. Guys who love their profession but are private about their personal life.

To each their own. I actually like that a lot from Max. The sheer dedication and intensity and him never holding his punches is inspiring honestly. This guy is the embodiment of "if you ain't first, you're last" and it's honestly a sight to behold. There's plenty of (often fabricated or artififial) drama in F1 right now and I for one hate it. It takes so much attention out of the actual racing. It's also a bit ironic that Kimi was hailed as a hero with how he treated media and drama while Max gets so much criticism for the same thing. We are witnessing one of the greatest that ever did it, and he's still destroying everyone, just try to enjoy that instead of the fake AF media personalities most other drivers put on all the time. He's as real as it gets.

Lol watch 2021 season and before to get a feeling if u like max or not...i cant like him after the way he raced then 😐

Agreed... Max wining or losing means nothing to me as a fan

[–] t0fr@lemmy.ca -1 points 8 months ago

All he cares about is racing, not developing personality.

Sometimes it's what you need to dominate

In the spots people tend to pay less attention to:

Yuki once again far outpaces Daniel...

What happened to Alpine? Are they the new Haas?

[–] Sentau@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 8 months ago

That was ridiculously impressive from bearman.

[–] Microw@lemm.ee 5 points 8 months ago (1 children)

The interviewer and Checo were flatmates when Checo competed in GP3, I'm told

[–] Sentau@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 8 months ago

I have never seen trivia which was both more interesting and pointless at the same time

[–] Coelacanth@feddit.nu 5 points 8 months ago

Damn, Fernando had a good shot at P2 there. Just couldn't match his previous lap.

[–] alphacyberranger@lemmy.world 5 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Bearman beating both the Alpines will be a beautiful sight

[–] Sentau@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

He beat a lot more than that

Did he stutter

[–] Microw@lemm.ee 5 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

They just took a whole minute until flying yellow flags while Hulkenberg was stranded on track wtf

[–] alphacyberranger@lemmy.world 4 points 8 months ago

Stroll just strolling into P2

Lewis is not loving this year's car either, by the looks of things.

Edit: Beaten by a proper rookie. A rookie in a Ferrari, rightly enough, but still.

[–] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago

Dang, thought Alonso had it in the bag.

Good lap by Leclerc.

[–] cozy_agent@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago

McLaren drivers are gonna have back problems after all this bouncing on the track.

[–] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago

Nooooo Hulk.

Rip my Fantasy team.

[–] Microw@lemm.ee 2 points 8 months ago

The traffic lights not working again.. they had the same problems during F1Academy race

[–] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago

Exciting quali so far, and it's only Q1 with 7 minutes to go.

[–] Worx@lemmynsfw.com 1 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I missed the start, what happened to Zhou?

[–] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 9 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (1 children)

Crash in FP3. Mechanics were busy repairing. Just managed to get him out of the track with 2 minutes to go.

Edit: Rip no time left for him. P20 it is.

[–] Worx@lemmynsfw.com 3 points 8 months ago

Thanks. That was so close! Great job by the mechanics even if they didn't quite make it
