Knitting

I found this one secondhand (a Toyota KS901) for £60 and the ribber for £20. But you may have to add to that other accessories such as weights, combs, other carriages, punch cards, depending on what came with the machine and what you're interested in making.

Usually they are pretty pricey, especially with the ribber attatchment. That's an amazing deal for a bed and ribber setup!! You can sometimes find used ones on ravelry or craigslist. I've only ever found parts where I live. The lk-150 is a great machine for dk and worsted weight yarn if you want to check it out.

Machine knitting is fun and tricky. I've had people tell me it's not "real knitting", but there is a lot of skill in getting a nice result like this cardigan. You can knit big pieces flat, do hand manipulation to make cables and lace on the machine, and pick up stitches to knit the ribbing by hand. Or you can use attatchments to make it all on the machine. I think it's very interesting how everything works.

Do you mean for the cuffs? I worked from the bottom up so the ribbing is cast on, not bound off unfortunately.

However, there is a bind off method I swear by called the invisible ribbed bind off.
