I'd have thought these were molts but seed pod sounds very plausible. thing is I don't bring these blankets outside and the one I found them on I hadn't used in a while.

I gotta agree with the commenter - if it had been anything more than 2 I’d be more suspicious but two halves like this?

Gotta be a seed pod. You could try looking up your local ecology and look for any pics regarding things which might have seed pods and then look up images if you’re down for a scavenger hunt!
