Man, they really donβt want Andretti to get into F1, do they?

Can't have an actually competent American team now can we?
I'm not entirely sure this isn't revenge for Mario ditching F1 for Indy fully 40 years ago.
Iβm not entirely sure this isnβt revenge for Mario ditching F1 for Indy fully 40 years ago.
Teams like Haas and Williams don't want to end up being the 11th team in the championship. Now there are in the top 10!
Be careful. People think you're crazy if you say this (I think you're correct, but...)
Well, I don't think you'd be crazy for saying that but I don't believe it to be true.
I've never sensed any animosity to a non European team, rather I think it's just about the money. More teams means less dosh per team which in turn, to some extent, lowers the market value of the existing teams.
Fair enough.
It isnβt cause theyβre American, if it was any other team the reaction would be exactly the same. They donβt want to split the money more. I know we all want to make it into an anti-American sentiment, but I genuinely believe they donβt care what nationality the team is.
Yeah.
The main concern seems to be prize pool dilution? Why is hard to make it a sliding scale, factoring in # of teams racing? Or is it they just don't want the competition? It leaves a sour taste in my mouth their approach both limiting competition meanwhile denying entries.
Pardon my french.
But fuck that shit.
I didn't quite understand the article but are they saying they want no more than 20 cars on the track?
What about how red bull and McLaren technically have two teams each?
McLaren technically have two teams
Big if true
what other team does mclaren have?
Oof, rookie mistake on my part. I meant Mercedes. I only just started watching F1. My bad.
Its like Ferrari has a second team... Merc does not have a second team. They supply engine and bits to other teams, like Ferrari does to hass, and Alpine used to do. RB right out owns two teams.
Gotcha! Thanks for sharing. It seems so confusing.. there's so much to learn.
Mercedes and Ferrari supply engines for most of the teams which leads to close partner relationships between certain teams, but nobody else has an explicit fully-controlled junior team like RB. And I agree they should have to give it up if they want to limit entries.
Thank you for explaining!
Merc dont have a second team either.
(crotchety old guy voice) Back in my day it was McLaren Mercedes
Get him!!!

Bullshit. Let Andretti in !
