I updated my bios yesterday and my PC bricked unfortunately. Quite bummed this happened.

My bad I think. Looks like some parts of the Synology Nas is open source but not DSM directly.

Gotta be my Synology NAS. Although the hardware isn't free. The software is open source.

I moved always from every cloud storage provider to my own private cloud instead! Could not be happier!

My wife loves it too!

Edit: Sorry! Looks like some parts of the Nas is open. Not DSM itself.

What? This is some stone age mentality to have. Glad you're not my neighbour.

I agree. I am subscriber of theirs. They provide immense value, for free.

I came to mention them. Quite baffled no one thought of them. Incredible band!

Cheese Slicer. The most common kitchen tool in any Swedish home!

I don’t use any social media. I give my phone number to family members. They can call/text if they want to reach me.

We already have this in Sweden. 10km in Sweden is 1 mil (Swedish mile).

When we sell/buy used cars and other types of vehicles we always count the mileage in Swedish miles.

Kilometers work but is just absurd when you start talking about 100k+ kms.

I’m sort of the same as you.

I took a 6 bootcamp, got a job straight away after as a full stack junior web developer.

Programming as a job was the single worst decision I make. I was working with languages and frameworks I don’t enjoy, I was building a product I don’t care about in the slightest.

It took me 1 year of full time web dev before I quit and went back to regular IT which isn’t the most fun thing, but it works for me. I’ve been doing it for over a decade so I can do it in my sleep, it’s easy money tbh. Programming for me is definitely more of a hobby than a job. Having it as a job really killed my love for it

Nowadays I only code in Python which I LOVE. I use my programming skills to automate work tasks, and I make small scripts here and there and it’s so much fun.

Solving small problems with scripts is just what I enjoy doing. I get to work on a project for a day or two. I can complete it fast then move on to something else.

Now I’m about transitioning into Data Engineering instead of Software Development.

That sounds great to be honest!

Basically title.

I’m wondering if a package manager like flatpak comes with any drawback or negatives. Since it just works on basically any distro. Why isn’t this just the default? It seems very convenient.

Nowadays, the absolute vast majority of games that I play are shit tbh.

This is why I pirate games first to try them out. I wanna be very clear that if I think a game is good I buy it, no questions asked.

However, since most games don't have demos or trials, I don't want to feel like I've wasted money so I look to piracy so that I can try them out before making a purchase.

AITAH?

The outside [temperature] feature must be bugged... It's not been below 25 degrees for too many days now.

And the [rain] feature don't seem to work either.

Could this be a bug that came with the [summer] update?

Now I can pick and profession, trait and I can set all stats to level 20. Without penalty?

Title.

Would be awesome if we could collectively work on a script that would contain all the good features.

Thanks for using my script. I will keep this thread updated with all the changes. Just look at the changelog.

If you have any tips on features and/or improvements then leave a comment and I'll take a look!

Changelog:

Version 0.5

The nav will now be sticky and move when you scroll down so you always have access to it!

Version 0.4

Removed bold as default...

Version 0.3

Added separators and colors codes for every link. Now you can edit the TextColor when you add a new custom link

{ title: 'Plugins', url: 'https://lemmy.world/c/plugins@sh.itjust.works', textColor: "#000000" }

Feel free to add or remove the separators as well

{ title: '|', url: '#', textColor: "#000000" }

Also added an option to change font weight:

link.style.fontWeight = "bold" = Bold

link.style.fontWeight = "" = Regular

Version 0.2

Some code update...

Version 0.1

Just replace the titles and urls with your own links after you install the script

I don’t get what the problem is? Anyone can elaborate.

Edit: Thank you all for shedding more light on this topic. I’ve never really used flatpak but I do understand it better now!

Ever since yesterday my notification bell is stuck on 1.

I've tried to clear my cache and restart the browser. Any tips on how to remove it?

EDIT: I could see a "Mark all as read" button and it worked when I clicked that. I can only assume one of the notifications bugged.

I just want more free time. I don’t enjoy [working] away my life. There’s so much more out there!
