Tips is good. I drink all kinds depending on mood. If you like cinnamon you need to try Harney and Sons Hot Cinnamon Spice.. I am addicted.

I also like to make sun tea in the summer, but I'm searching for the perfect tea for that. Local grocery has the usual Lousianne and Lipton.

No, and I mean NO! Dwarf Fortress post should be without the hilarious and colorful story of boatmurdered

You can read the whole log, but starkravingmad's journal is pure LOL.

I'm a Nuggets fan and I agree. He acted like a petulant child and put players at risk.

It's soo good. It's taught me most of what I know about Linux. And, without getting into a battle over inits, I just love the simplicity of runit.

I know, so cool. I am open to learning, but I am not sure I am in for that depth of education :)

I haven't honestly. Isn't that one that takes forever to install because it builds the packages as you install the system?

It's definitely hard to beat: )

One of the few things that differentiates the major distros is the package manager. I've been running void on my laptop for the last 3 years and love it. XBPS is super fast and easy to use. It has never left me with a broken system either. That said, I've got the itch to switch.

I am looking at rolling / up to date distros. I'm inclined to use CLI when available.

I've been considering Opensuse, but last time I used zypper it was painfully slow. Has it gotten any better?

I was thinking of trying Alpine, how is APK?

Not interested in *butu, but apt seemed okay.

What's your favorite and how does it behave?

Void is just soo good.

  • Runit is super simple and makes sense to me. - I get to build the distro the way I want it.
  • I've learned a ton about the inner workings of Linux using Void for the last 3 years.
  • You're right about packages, but I've not had issues as I've found flatpacks or appimages for anything not offered.
  • Xbps has spoiled me. I HATE using almost every other package manager. They're all so slow and cumbersome.

Loads of FLAC music, track / map storage for offline camping / offroad, offline music downloads from Deezer (Hi-Res) for playback without network.

Wow. #1 'get off my lawn' post of the day. There is nothing wrong with auto... It's the drivers.

I hope he keeps sapping the RNC until there's nothing left for them to do but sue him and kick him to the curb.

Then, he is found guilty of scamming all these rubes and he has to cut millions of 5 dollar checks. Oh, and pays the RNC lawyer fees because why not.

I see a lot of users who post have @nameblah@instancetheiraccountison, which I think is very handy when posting in other instances. Did I miss a step in my account setup? How do I set my name up in the same manor? TIA

Void Linux. Super stable and offers an easy and lightning fast package manager. I'm not sure of your use case but it has been great for me on an older Dell precision laptop for work.
