My takes is even if Google Search engine is better most people won't bother to change the default Apple SE and Google knows that. Apple user who tend to be more wealthy are worth the cost.

No, I don't think so, two different price because AppStore and PlayStore take cut around 30% when you purchase through them. Meta is passing Apple and Google tax to costumers if they choose.

Great read, my only problem with publishing content on own domain is it gives power to those who can afford to pay for website and hosting. Internet should be democratic, and only way to do that is to make it accessible, but I also want to see more people owning their creation.

Not just speaking technically but economically. As user number mount up their post is just going to add up. I know instaces may distribute user, but server space isn't going to go down for anyone. It just seems like built to fall.

I would argue meta is the only way mainstream content creator are willing to join fediverse, It won't be the worst thing to have more options, especially when feed curation in on our hand.
