Why don't people send "SD cards" with their video on it?

I guess for the same reason.

At the start of COVID, I was in Hanoi, but wanted to go to India before going home (it was super cheap). Before that, 2 things had happened:

  1. The stupid airline blocked the money (in the credit card) for our flight back and on top also transferred it, which left me without money in Vietnam. Super big pile of shit already.
  2. Due to COVID there was zero chance of reaching anyone for support. It took, at the end, another week when we where back for that money to be unblocked.

Then something else happened: They didn't let us on our flight to India (and thus to our flight home). Despite the Indian government saying no restrictions untill 2 days later. I had the website if the Indian ministry right there to show them. (guess how long it took to get that money back, despite the person saying they refund right now: about a year!)

So now we were stuck in Hanoi, without money for a flight back. So I had to call my family for credit card details to pay for a flight. There was essentially no other option. I don't plan to have 3x the amount of money "just in case". I don't travel much, so I assume parts of that are not too rare.

Don't feel embarrassed. The developers failed.

If it was printed later or written on punch cards... how much code are we actually looking at?

Old 120 Hz veteran here, when it was all new and shiny: It was fairly easy to go back to 60 Hz. The loss in quality was absolutely not worth it back in the day. The displays today got better, but so did my standard. I think it will take OLED or microLED to get me to higher refresh rates again.

You don't exploit by paying the price that was agreed on. The driver let's himself be exploited, but that is not the fault of the customer. If I agree to give away 100 $ bills I don't get exploited by people taking them.

I agree, that season (6?) was really good.

They keep making Rick and Morty. And so far they didn't fuck up, still very funny.

  1. In this case, the service is disconnected from your data. With Google et al., your data is the product.
  2. Closing or some other form of taking your banking account hostage until you give them permission is not exactly something that should ever be possible to happen. This kind of service needs to be heavily regulated. Much unlike Facebook or some other social media stuff.

The many different distros are also bad thing for the same reason. The same way 100 different types of flour in the shelve would be overwhelming.

They removed "Don't be evil" as their big motto. So indeed fuck them. And yes I know it is still somewhere in their code of conduct or something, but holy cow why would they ever feel the need to move that in the back? Was that after employees did not want to work for military stuff?

Except that GPT4 in Bing seems to suck every time I try it.
