I've been concerned that we might get a giant influx of Americans, who have more purchasing power with that strong USD and would price Canadians out of any and all housing. Plus building aggressively like this is a good stimulus to the economy. Let's hope it works.

we've instituted Analog Sundays at our house. No screens of ANY kind. No computer, no tablets, no tv, no phone. Books, boardgames, sketch books, musical instruments. It makes for a great brain reset and lowers those cortisol levels a titch.

I just tried DRL (Drone Racing League) on Steam and did the tutorial. It's fun.

I've always had an interest in photography, so that might be my entry point. As I said to Dearche in this thread, I just tried a drone racing game and that was fun. I'll keep at it!

That was a great piece. Thank you for sharing it.

Hey, y'all, I want to help us to be on guard for Canada, and I was thinking I should learn how to fly drones.

I have started looking at schools and at the Transport Canada website. I'd like to hear from those who know more about drone flight schools and fly drones themselves.

I've never flown one myself, even if I do find them rather cool. I'm too old and creaky (and too averse to hierarchy) to join the military, but I can make myself useful in other ways.

Should I get a small drone (below 250 g) and practice?

Are there virtual tools I could practice with? I wouldn't want to crash an expensive piece of gear while I'm learning to pilot it.

Please chime in with your advice.

No, thank you. Stay home, please, and fix your problems.

Voilà une ben bonne idée, considérant que les "large language models" sont contrôlés par des instances étrangères qui n'ont pas notre bien en tête.

Bonjour, fellow Canadian Lemmies! I'd deleted my Reddit account in November, and was only lurking, so it's nice to have a voice in the conversation once more.

Yeah, I'd deleted my Reddit posts and then my account in November. I was already irked at what they did to their API, and then the Orange Dingbat got elected and I decided it was enough.

Later on, I went back, but only to lurk, but since many of the specialised subs require that you join in able to read posts makes it pretty unusable at this point.

I miss the old Reddit; I was there for over a decade. But here we are, building a new place for ourselves.
