I have a 720p integrated screen and a 1440p external monitor, I only have one active at a time, so they share panels.

I have a global menu on my top panel and when I'm using the 720p screen on some applications that menu can overflow and cause the right plasmoids to move offscreen.

Is there any way of making each screen use different panels or failing that is there a solution to this that doesn't involve removing the global menu as it is?

The performance speed between WSL, virtual machines, and bare metal Linux has become so close that few developers choose this method due to the overhead of needing to restart (reboot) your device any time you want to switch between the operating systems.

And there's the attempt at discouraging you from going bare-metal.

I doubt that "few developers choose this" is true.

It includes an additional charger, wich costs 25$ in the ifixit store, + has both hdmi and Displaylink, both of wich can reach 4k 120hz. Also 1Gb/s ethernet port and 3 usb 3.1. Also firmware updates and support from valve.

Hi from desktop mode!

I use a Arch Linux install (configured to have a 'as close as possible to SteamOS 3' experience, so I still have the usual gaming mode and desktop mode) and I use desktop mode for web browsing, programming (and related stuff), system maintenance and installing stuff.

I use Gaming Mode for gaming, ofc.
