I mean we are out of time because the amount of carbon we've currently released is enough to destroy all human life, it just takes a few decades for that impact to really show up. However, due to optimistic research done by scientists, there are probably numerous cascading loops that will shorten that time significantly.

An amanita species being mixed in accidentally is actually exactly what I suspect happened to their bars. But there are many many other mushrooms that could do this too. Per their product page, there's no amanita in these, either. Mushrooms also tend to absorb toxins, pesticides, and heavy metals, so they may be the right species but otherwise contaminated as well. Many options.

It's not entirely clear what is in the chocolates or what could be causing the illnesses. The FDA said it was working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as America's Poison Centers to "determine the cause of these illnesses and is considering the appropriate next steps."

On its website, Diamond Shruumz says that its chocolate bars contain a "primo proprietary blend of nootropic and functional mushrooms." The website also contains reports of laboratory analyses on their products, some of which indicate the absence of select known fungal toxins and compounds such as the hallucinogen psilocybin and cannabinoids.

My guess is that they accidentally grew/used the wrong type of mushroom. PCR tests on the bars will tell us for sure.

Second, really really shitty of the article to imply these bars have cannabis or psilocybin when they do not have either of these compounds according to the manufacturer's website.

I think there's a lot more to this guy's relationship with his daughter. She had other friends at the house and hadn't told him she'd left. She also went inside and left during this confrontation. Imo, companies being concerned about class actions if everyone had access to Healthcare, is THE REASON we do not have Healthcare for all in this country. Imagine how many more Flint, MI, there are, but no one knows because none of them can afford to see a doctor.

Yes, because the world is extremely complex. The sadder thing, is that even if we solved climate change tomorrow, we'd still have a few other ways for our planet to end, including destruction of soil habitat, loss of biodiversity, and literally dozens of pollutants like BPA and glyphosate, dyes for clothes, microplastics, heavy metals (including from tractor tires&exhaust right onto the fields we grow our food in)... And we have an outdated representative democracy that doesn't utilize our country's education or expertise. Frustrating. It's not the time of horses any more, we can fucking use technology now ya'll. We should be able to vote and discuss policy en masse from our homes/cell phones. We don't need representatives if we are literally our own representative in a true democracy.

If unions and OSHA really had teeth, they'd point out the significant health risks of having workers commute to work versus work from home. In terms of lives saved, work from home is much safer and we should fine companies accordingly when they force workers to commute when instead they could simply work from home. They should also be fined for environmental impact as well :)
