Sorry if this seems like a silly question but I have noticed over the last few months my feed(?) has started to act odd.

No matter what I do I don't see any posts from .world. I checked and mander does not seem to block .world (kinda why I liked this instance) and even weirder is how my feed gets filled with mostly .ml posts with almost no activity no matter how I sort.

This did not happen before and got me thinking, I don't even know how this works across federated instances.

Does anyone know:

  • How does the sorting work on an instance? Is it all the same no matter what instance it is?

  • Did anything change in the last few months, that would cause all .world (and I assume others) posts to not show?

  • Other then changing instances what can I do to mitigate the weird slanted results?

I think a this is a bigger issue then just .worlds stance on piracy. Lemmy.world has put it self forward as the "front page of lemmy" but has now also removed one of the largest community using lemmy. And did so with no input on a discord server (not on any instance). This front page status was already shakey with all the down time and clunk. This seems like maybe not the best side to show new users.

Driver faces hit-run homicide

The first part of the headline does a fair job of pointing out the murder.

The issue is not so much size but height. These things are all over where I am as fleet vehicles and even the good ol' type will comment that they can not see anything in front. Just look at the door or normal car in the background of that picture and you get an idea. These hoods are no joke 1.7 meters high for no other reason then to look mean.

Honestly you could do a lot by simply charging people the same as non car related crimes. Like if you or I got pissed/trashed/inebriated and killed a person we would get a totally different outcome if the tool used was a brick or a car.

I am assuming you are an American, so I think you have sent no one.

Oh yeah that worked so well for them in 1997 and 2014. Did people forget that peace negotiations have happened before and russia has broken the agreement every time?

Why would Ukraine or anyone for that matter take anything the russian federation says as not a lie? Also I think that in this case it would be stupid for Ukraine to allow russia any ability to regroup.

Are you all OK over there?

This is about as uplifting as stories about kids selling lemonade to afford their mothers insulin.

Is the illusion of a functional justice system in the room with us now?

I would say maybe overthrow the government, but that was so last year.

I think I should know more about Finland, I always seem to like watching politicians do a racism then attempt to spin it into not a racism.
