In 2009, I was incredibly fortunate to be in a position to buy a home. By 2018, its increased value allowed me to purchase a second, larger home, move my family into it, and rent out our first one. Later, I refinanced both properties, reducing the interest rates by about 2% each.

All our children are on the autism spectrum. If we can keep these two homes, we plan to eventually sell them and place the proceeds in a special trust to support our children after we’re gone. Or, they might live in one or both of them—time will tell. Either way, knowing they have this safety net gives us peace of mind.

I hope others are as fortunate as we’ve been, with even more and better opportunities to secure a home and build a stable future for themselves.

I recently played through universal Paperclips. It was okay, looking for more to try.

Bots that can be summoned (e.g. !savevideo, or whatever the command format would be) could be useful. Otherwise, bots can sod off.

Anyone got a non-paywalled version of the article?

It's Linux like macOS is BSD.

It's actually an important mechanic. How you play changes the game's ending and you get a chance to try again. It's meant to be played several times different ways, so you didn't do anything wrong. :)

Then you can't pick from any manufacturer. You have to get a phone that can only run android and can be rooted. That vastly narrows down your choices.

If you're paying for any software on your phone (e.g., games or productivity apps) you're still likely giving the manufacturer money.

If you use any apps on your phone (e.g., the web browser or email) they can still collect analytics on you and sell that data.

If you pay for subscriptions through any of those same apps, again more money going to them.

If you buy too old of phones you'll be left without critical updates, either very soon or right away, that protect your privacy and personal/financial data.

These corporations still win and you still lose.
