Im actually curious on how they're made, and what does it take to make one or what is needed? Are they worth making?

So my family has a few containers of unused blank dvds that are just lying around collecting dust. i know dvds are almost useless because of streaming, but can they still be used. Theses dvds can only be written to once and they only have like 3 gb of storage on them, can they still be used?, do they have a use?

So ive been thinking about making a comic and currently im trying to think of an idea while doing research. I plan on making a short comic with ai because i can only draw stick men, and i think ai art is cool but its nowhere near human art. Im thinking of putting some mature themes in some comics like slight gore, lovey-dovey things like hand holding and such?, and possibly action scenes.

is there a good place to post this kind of stuff without paying, i know there are webtoons and Amazon but i heard they can be strict or slow, is that true? ive tried making comics many times and my art still stinks but i hope ai art will teach me something, also what software is best for comic making (like working with images)?

feel free to add something but please be nice.

Im looking for something like comic life 3 but preferably open source. i would like to put ai generated images or photos into a comic with ease but with the power of open source or free. is there a software like this that lets you just drag and drop images and it helps make a comic or something? also im not a fan of free trials, watermarks, and those annoying things like that.

So i struggle with learning new things but i think i can manage but its hard because it feels like i need someone to hold my hand or give me a powerpoint about something new. im dying to make a video game or something and i think maybe visual novels are the way to go because i also want to tell a story even if its lame. my interest seem to change alot but how do i learn renpy without getting overwhelmed? i havent even open the software yet because im afraid of failing also ive only used a little of unreal engine 4 intill i relised it was overheating my pc and its slow. ive probably used something else like scratch but i forgot.

that is good to know, i wonder how people even get away with it... or if there are safer alternatives?

[-] QuietStorm@lemm.ee 1 points 11 months ago

im wondering that too, but the reviews are pretty good.

but are they legal to sell?

[-] QuietStorm@lemm.ee 1 points 11 months ago

i also stink at fps games, and i wound have suggested roblox but it updates just like steam, so i guess i wish you luck, also there is this site called itch.io which has a bunch of free and paid games and many other things.

[-] QuietStorm@lemm.ee 2 points 11 months ago

krunker.io is a fast based shooter game with alot of jumping that can be played in the browser.

also have you considered mmorpgs? ill list some that are light? realm of the mad god. runescape/old school runescape. albion online tibia

yeah those are the only lightweight ones i know about that dont take up too much space...

Ive seen many youtube videos on people attempting to make games with chatgpt but the results are not the best but it certainly looks fun i guess.

ive been wanting to make a video game for weeks now and i just cant code no matter how hard i try i just cant. also if one chooses to make a game with chatgpt what engine should one go with or thing? Because there is a lot to choose from.

what are your thoughts on this, do you have anything to add?

[-] QuietStorm@lemm.ee 1 points 11 months ago

its ok, i will keep theses noted too.

Is this a thing because ive been trying to get into gamedev but i cant code at all and ive been trying for so long now but i just cant. I know theres godot but there visual scripting makes so sense and can be strange at times.

ive seen people create games with ai but i feel like that kinda ruins the point of gamedev. Im not even sure why i want to make a game but i just do for some reason.

by chance do you have any suggestions or things you would like to add.

[-] QuietStorm@lemm.ee 2 points 11 months ago

Im sorry but im allergic to alot of things such as cats and dogs for some reason, i wish i could get one but i just cant at the moment.

[-] QuietStorm@lemm.ee 2 points 11 months ago

ive been wanting to make a game or something, like that but honestly im not sure, i cant even code, i wonder if there is something easier to do?

[-] QuietStorm@lemm.ee 2 points 11 months ago

i have been wanting to do game making but im not sure because i cant code, so matter hard i try i cant, ive wanted to try ai but that seems to ruin the point kinda, so i guess im up for recommendations for languages or engines but idk, also im major dylexic.

ive also wanted to make a comic but im not sure where to start or how to come up with a good idea.

ive wanted to make videos and post them but im not sure who would watch my trash gaming videos and even where to post them at?

got any more advice because from what you said theses 3 interest me and i have a low end computer too, and also im trying to get into therapy.

Emperor said there is a video limit, is that true? also, do i need a good pc or a good mic to get started, or something like those?

So i still have depression and im constantly bored, i feel like a loser who cant do anything right. I want to let my creativeness out, make something i can share with the world or family, but im probably dreaming too big. I cant stand being depressed and bored, it stinks, everyone tells me to work out but i lack the motivation to do so.

i usually just watch youtube all day while complaining to family members that have no idea what to do about me.

I know some things about both, but im still confused for some reason. Like what is the difference between peertube and youtube, which is better?

I was thinking of getting into one of theses for video creation but im not sure which would be better as a sort of hobby? also do i need a powerful pc or a good microphone to get started? is it better to record with or without your voice?

Feel free to add on to this, but please be kind.
