To be fair, this should be the other way around. All these foss apps are the teletubbies because they're clunky and have major bugs. Sync is the power ranger.

Free and open-source software

They could just say open-source like normal people but we're amongst nerds here.

I agree. That's why I pay for apps and services that are well designed and supported. The "free" mentality always leads to advertisements being pushed into everyone's face.

Without financial support, most Lemmy instances wouldn't exist. I'd rather support apps that have free versions with premium subscriptions, or donation models, but it's all the same thing to me. I want to go back to world where we just pay for stuff.

Nice. I think it's time for me to try it again. I want to start getting away from google as much as possible.

Ha yeah, I have a potato masher that has to be perfectly aligned or it blocks the drawer. But I'll never stop putting it in there 😆 but I will get pissed every time it causes a problem.

I guess my company has been lucky so far. Our management team saw the chance to save money by reducing how many buildings we need and they rolled that money into hiring more remote workers.

It's funny / sad how much good / bad management can affect a company. Anyone with half a brain can see the benefit of remote work. You just need to figure out how to keep your workers accountable in different ways now that you can't stand behind their chairs and look over their shoulders.

The smart companies are saving money and getting better workers. The rest can all go fuck themselves.

The most frustrating thing is that there's no reason for this. Yes, we're seeing some inflation, but for some reason corporations decided that now was the good time to accelerate shrink-flation and price gouging. I'm so over it. I'm basically trying to replace everything that's mass produced at this point because I'm tired of being taken advantage of. Everythings so expensive now that I can source groceries and goods locally for the same price. I hope more people do the same and it bankrupts all these shit mega corps.

For me it's more like this:

I spent a good few hours last month just going through all the online subscriptions I don't need. It came out to almost $200 a month. That shit can add up fast!
