I agree lightning has it's drawbacks, but it's better than your other options right now. Obviously if you aren't in a desperate spot you could put off switching what's in your staff until you need to, and hope you find a better option

The chains and rof will help a ton. Personally, I don't like dumping upgrades into scale armor since you get more bang for your buck with plate, and now you need to decide if you are willing to stick with your scale for the rest of the run or not. At +5 it shouldn't become a problem until the last few floors/eye boss fight. I don't like prismatic in the staff since most of the benefit from prismatic is finding traps, secrets, and blinding ranged enemies, which don't happen often enough to justify getting 8+ charges of it at a time, so I would use lightning. Keeping magic missile is pointless rn, since it doesn't give you more wards or much damage with prismatic, and the extra lightning damage would be easier to get if you just put the lightning wand into the staff.
I would get to an alchemy pot to see what trinkets I get. Then imbue your staff with one of the wands you have and use at least 4 SoU on it. What wand you imbue is dependant on your play style/trinket. If you have 14str I would just try on the chainmail and hope it isn't cursed, it might be upgraded which would help. With a decent staff, 2 heal pots, and 2 blink stones from that teleport scroll, you should be able to kill tengu.
Someone clearly hasn't read the effect description of 'focused'. It is pretty clear that it will block an attack even if the attack is otherwise guaranteed to hit, which includes surprise attacks and duelist abilities.
You can find a +2 ring wherever, imp can give a +3 ring, talisman is easy to get to +10 if you have it for long enough. If you start with a +1 or +2 plate armor and have another one identified, troll blacksmith can get it to +3 easily, with some favor left over for additional reforges. A +12 wand just requires using most of your upgrade scrolls on it, and finding a leveled wand from the old wand maker helps.
That's what's fun about pd, is that every item has a gimmick that can be built around in a way to take you to the surface.
I haven't tested it, but I would assume the cloak functions like normal, which means it is affected by artifact recharging buff and ring of energy.
The only time I don't go warden is when I have the barren land challenge enabled.
Having a guided tutorial would defeat the purpose of a rogue like. The point of a rogue like is to learn about the game as you play, with the only thing getting upgraded as you retry is you. A guided tutorial shortcuts this, and while rogue likes certainly aren't for everyone, that doesn't mean that PD shouldn't be a traditional rogue like.
Rom builds can be so op sometimes with warrior, since you have abilities that scale with strength
The rogue has a t3 ability that allows him to use his cloak even when it is unequipped, at the cost of a slower recharge time. Fully upgraded this reduces the charge speed of the cloak by only 25%, and otherwise the cloak maintains full functionality. What you are asking for is literally in the game, you just need to beat tengu.
Tengus interaction with charm is weird. He stops throwing shurikens at you, but will still use other abilities as normal (cause they aren't direct attacks, I guess?). This makes affection very helpful for the first phase and not as helpful for the second.
