My parents sure do love voting away all social welfare from existence.

My family would not have survived without the food, medical, and schooling assistance we recieved. Without their church helping out, we wouldn't have had the rent several times.

They don't see any problem here.

On the one hand:

SHOOT THEM THE FUCK DOWN IF THEY VIOLATE YOUR AIRSPACE (assuming you detect them at the time and have the capability)

On the other hand:

I bet Israel is counting on that so they can let everyone know they have evidence that IRAQ is actually HAMAS while they start bombing hospitals and schools.

I don't blame them for NOT shooting the fucks down. Rock and an explosive place backed by a global superpower...

I've had cuts I didn't know about, but the worst was when I worked retail and managed to smash my upper arm on a shelf, and apparently I was bleeding bad enough to leave a broken trail from the front of the store to the break room.

I couldn't feel anything but the aching of the blunt force trauma, I didn't feel the sharp cut or any stinging at all.

I've also had plenty of small spots I have no idea how they happened, but usually I'M the one to figure it out...

and what’s with the bruised legs?

Tldr: inattentiveness, bumping into tons of stuff, and only remembering it when you look at the bruise or someone reminds you.

An explanation that's meant to be humorous because it happens to me and my wife all the time:

"Oh my god, where did THIS bruise come from?"

earlier that day

bump "ow, how did I hit the coffee table..."

bump "fuck that hurt, I swear the counter was another 6 inches over"

smash "FUCK the freezer door closes too quickly!"

has to be reminded of these events to remember tham

"Yeah, but proceeds to present an argument that completely ignores the underlying premise that everyone should be cool with all being one planet helping each other instead of returning to squabbling tribal mentality of 'us vs them' and 'if I give them some then I'll have less' and people need to stop letting conflicts of our parents and great-great-great-x147-grandparents started decide how we view our neighbors"

Haha checkmate, logical thinkers.

They just want to be angry. They don't care about anything else, and anything anyone says is irrelevant.

I absolutely hate when people say shit like that, and I will 100% tell management in front of everyone "If you just want someone to blame, that's fine but don't ask me to explain something and then get pissy like a child when I do exactly that."

Because that's exactly what they are doing.

And I will not participate in such assery.

I know SSDs need to be powered on occasionally due to how they store data, which is why (also due to cost lol) I have most of my stuff on HDDs, though I know those can have issues if you leave them out unprotected.

Not much more I can do without spending a lot more money than I have already. But so far I've never needed to get my second backup.

Which reminds me I need to re-backup the second drive...

I feel you

I was mostly just joking lol

I'm hoping to get out a few more times myself, but I'd wager the winter weather is much milder where I am, though it occasionally dips to -20c during bad storms.

Hopefully you'll get super lucky and have a few days of great weather!
