This is one of the things I really like about a particular boss in Elden Ring, too - most of the NPCs in that game are pretty clear that they look down on you, but there's a late game boss who acknowledges your strength in a pretty big way and it's good.

So you don't need society designed to accommodate your presence in a city, then?

If we couldn't do that, it'd be pretty difficult to ever back down from a bad policy decision, which isn't exactly great either.
