that has far too few upvotes and comments for a seminal post

what is with all the stör fish references recently?

i'm definitely out of touch

[–] Zeus@lemm.ee 4 points 11 months ago

d'you know what, i have no idea

i don't recognise it, but i could just not have been paying attention

[–] Zeus@lemm.ee 3 points 11 months ago

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ plenty of people like it.

either browse Subscribed or be prepared to block communities. do you post this under every sports team lemmysphere you don't support or city you don't live in?

i'm not doing it to "make Lemmy look more populated", i'm doing it because i liked them on reddit and want them here.

also there're about to be quite a few more (not made by me), so prepare yourself and your block button

i love the reflections! they're done really well with so few brushstrokes!

i know

it's not that dieselpunkish, but the scale and composition were so cool i had to post it

[–] Zeus@lemm.ee 2 points 11 months ago

i did hold off on posting it for a while actually because it's it's a bit potter-esque

but then i thought she doesn't have a copyright on round glasses; and why let arseholes ruin the context of nice art

such a nice shade of blue. i like ships that have a bit more of an interesting palette than silver or white (like the freighters in ftl)

time for something a little old-school - there's something so wonderfully imperfect about these older style illustrations

I always preferred figurative subjects rather than vehicles but after painting the first box cover I did this follow up.

My intention was to crop the image ,even parts of the tank itself really closely on a box cover and I left a huge amount of bleed surrounding the vehicle to enable it to be used in other formats. This was cheerfully ignored for the most part.

which, google translated, comes out as:

church in ruins

“Aside from the existence or absence of God, this alone is a big deal.”

"In my village, the place of prayer itself was an object of worship. There were only a limited number of people who knew the appearance of God, so it was actually something worthy of belief."

“It certainly felt like the work of God.”

"That's why everyone died."

now i can't say with absolute authority that this is his; as he seems to have deleted all of his warhammer artwork (presumably as a response to games workshop being awful). but it matches his style, and 40k gallery claim that it's his and they tend to be correct

Last year I got to be part of the visual development of Cubicle 7 new Warhammer 40k TTRPG Imperium Maledictum. The goal was to infuse the visual style of the 40k universe with the gritty and gloomy feel of noir.

It was quite fun to explore spaces and themes that aren't always very visible in 40k media. Tim Huckelbery was of great help. Good times
