I can't wait to watch them fight over who would be the most unapologetic supporter of genocide. distress

Evangelicals don't give a damn about Israel or Jews in general, so I don't think he's really taking their motivations or longevity into account. They (evangelicals) believe the existence of the nation of Israel and its subsequent total destruction are prerequisites for the Christian apocalypse/rapture. That's his only goal. I sorta agree that viewing this through a "fascism" lens isn't really helpful for understanding how people like Lindsey Graham think.

Even under the best circumstances where the ring0 anti-cheat developer is not malicious - which I'm absolutely not convinced is always true, mind you - they can be exploited by bad actors to take control of your system via privilege escalation. This isn't even just a hypothetical, it's already happened with basically all that are commonly in use - EAC, GameGuard, BattlEye, XignCode3 all come to mind. It's just bad opsec to run games that use them. You could be doing everything else right with securing your machines and network, and it won't matter. It's leaving the back door open.

I'm curious if an open-source anti-cheat consortium would be successful, or if this is one of the few cases where security through obfuscation might be the only way to protect anti-cheat software.

I don't think it would be possible tbh. You are correct in that security through obscurity is the only way these client-side solutions work. There are some amateurish open source anti-cheat frameworks but with the source available everything is easily disabled or bypassed. The only true solution to cheating that isn't invasive is implementing robust server side checking and active human (or hell, even AI could be used for this...) monitoring of anomalous player activity.

From what I understand, although this is technically binding and enforceable, any further action taken by the UN would require another resolution to adopt a specific response (whether that be sanctions, military intervention, etc.), which the US could just continue to abuse its veto power with.

Lasting ceasefire. It's worth noting that the US specifically forced the change in language from "permanent" to "lasting", whatever that implies.

They are running a large community in the middle of Europe, in plain view and being personally known, and as such, liable.

I think it helps to bring it back to the real world, and not simply rhetorical hypotheticals. A lot of the otherwise well meaning people fall for the false premise that there is somehow vast amounts of trans women in women's sports, but there just isn't. They accept the idea that it's a popular occurrence for a male athlete to transition solely to dominate the women's sports field, but that just doesn't happen in real life.

Joanna Harper, a researcher based at Loughborough University in Britain who studies the effects of hormone therapy on transgender athletes, told The New York Times last year that out of 200,000 women in college sports at a given time, about 50 are transgender.

In 2021, just nine of the 174,000 students participating in high school sports were transgender.

It's really just a plain lie, and not at all worthy of serious consideration. If people who are presented with these facts still choose to be transphobic, then they're simply showing their true colors and using this as an excuse.

I'm curious what you think Navalny stood for, which you claim to totally support? Spoilers, he was an ultra far-right nationalist piece of human garbage.
