the first doesn't negate the second, it describes it. it is a ban which is anti-trans or transphobic. this is not a double negative!
also, this is why ciswomen will sometimes use the men's restroom. long line, desperation, potentially exacerbated by the fact that birthing children sometimes makes it harder to wait afterward.
side note - i almost never clock anyone as trans. i figure most people don't, or don't correctly (i have heard of people challenging butch ciswomen). how would most folks even know?! just mind your business and do your business, and let others do the same.
then look at it this way - which of them is more likely to act on a stupid impulse, and is surrounded by incompetent, lying yes-men?

apparently western-wear is a thing in Japan. and honestly, they rock it better than we do!
i think you're missing the point, which i took as this - what arts and humanities folks do is valuable (as evidenced by efforts to recreate it) despite common narratives to the contrary.
having viewed the video now, i initially found myself surprised i was not more horrified. my best guess as to why is this - what seemed most notable to me was his apparent sanity and intentionality in making this choice. he chose the where and when of his death and intended it to matter.
please stop with the "Just Leave." we can't all just leave and i tire of hearing it. what limitations and obligations keep you where you are?
and if you genuinely can Just Leave wherever you are, reflect for awhile on your privilege, then try to recognize how many people do not have that option for any number of reasons.
sometimes i think this sentiment is only a little less tone-deaf than "just have a baby."
there's at least the two of us
yep, definitely turned out to be the kind of hateful shitbag his grandfather would have loved. bleh
... yes, my phoneless childhood was super dangerous. it's amazing i survived a couple of decades without one!
