I argue the point because it annoys me that the examples of nations they brought up as counter points to the chud meme are still really shit ones. The UAE is one of the states in the region with the least Muslims by comparison. It is also a corporate hell hole that only appears "advanced" because it's pumped full of western commercial business interests. Bringing them up as an example of a "progressive" Muslim country is backwards logic, when they're the least religious out of every other gulf state, so much so that they literally recognized the Zionist occupier as a valid country.

The country is 70% South Asian expatriate workers though, many of which aren't Muslims. Also not every Arab is Muslim either.

Better to be prepared in a situation where terrorists occupy an airport, no?

Same, maybe my English isn't good enough, or maybe we're on completely different planes. No worries comrade, disengaged.

I’m not sure I’d go so far as to call it genocide (in my mind you need a sustained effort over a longer time frame than that)

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what this means, but it reads to me like you're saying that for it to count as genocide that it needs to span over a certain time frame, am I misconstruing this? Are you of the mind that it should count as 2 separate genocides if the nuclear bombs dropped more than a few days apart from each other? This is a very strange point.

Again, you're just implying that time frame has any bearing on genocide. When this isn't true, not by any definition of genocide. Sabra and Shatila was a genocidal massacre that took place over just 48 hours. Does it stop being genocidal because of how little time it took? What if they did it faster? Would they get away with it then? I don't see any meaning in assigning time limits to genocide.

Your mind has it wrong, at least according to international law. The Srebrenica genocide was just 20 days long, but it still counts due to intent and methodology. I don't think the nuclear bombings were genocidal, because there wasn't specific intent by American leadership to literally eliminate every single Japanese from the areas they were bombing. The intent in this case is debatable but I think most rational people know that it was a senseless killing to facilitate a show of force against the Soviet Union.

In all seriousness, I don't think just because you're registered republican at the age of 20, that its some sort of massive ideological commitment. At that age, a lot of the time people just register for whatever most of their family is registered as.

idk, I think the most shocking thing was that he tried to shoot Donald Trump

I wouldn't expect much from a television show created by Jeff Bezos.

Be fair, that's still absolutely massive, the same respective area you put it over in Africa has thousands unique cultural identities, languages, traditions, etc.

Size absolutely does play a part, but its not enough to excuse the sheer amount of ignorance. Russia and China are massive as well, China is around the same landmass with almost 4 times the population, and the average Chinese isn't as stupid.

Communism is a classless, stateless society. The above countries are socialist nations which are striving to achieve communism through class struggle and the dictatorship of the proletariat. Each of them have their own methods of governance that best reflects their material conditions and the goals they need to achieve for their respective conditions. If you are really interested there are some very good reading lists available on lemmygrad.
