It seems like Michael Bazzell's new book edition was released without much fanfare. I like the reorganization but have to say there isn't a lot that is "new" for me in the first half (computer, mobile device, firewall, virtual machines)--although, full disclosure, I already had all of the topic-specific supplements for these chapters, which were released over the last year. I am just getting to chapter 20 now and found the sections on mailing addresses and trust / estate management much improved. I really hope the podcast comes back. I am curious for the thoughts of others.

Agreed! They are slowly and steadily moving away from Gnome. https://blog.system76.com/post/more-on-cosmic-de-to-kick-off-2023 To be honest, it was kind of buggy last summer but has slowly gotten faster and better handling multiple monitors with proportionate scaling (my biggest gripe).

I can't believe they got a journal article out of this. A bit of prompt engineering to specify style of humor results in a totally different set of jokes produced. Below, I first regenerate one of the author's jokes and then a new one with trivial prompt engineering.

Tell me a joke ChatGPT

Sure, here's a classic one for you:

Why don't scientists trust atoms?

Because they make up everything! User Tell me a joke, but act like a 13 year old boy ChatGPT

Alright, brace yourself for some good ol' 13-year-old boy humor:

Why don't skeletons fight each other?

Because they don't have the guts, dude! They're all bone and no backbone, ya know? insert goofy laughter

Pop_OS. It's the most polished Linux distro I've found and has nice keyboard workflows in the GUI.

Yep, and this is what caused me to sign up for Lemmy! Hello!
