You sound bitter... Let me guess, you couldn't get into one?

After 20 years in Canada I can tell you the shit I dislike the most was imported from the USA... The shit I like the most came from Europe

I vow never to buy anything advertised to me in such intrusive way....

I've been using it for my daily driver for work and casual gaming with no issues for 4 months now (Garuda Linux)

As others have said, the implication in this article's title is silly... Surely an r&d phase start easily explains this

What I'm curious about is how you spend that much money in such little time? Was that money actually spent or just committed?

They may not have to maximise profits but the shareholders will question every decision that doesn't maximise profits so the result is the same.

If that were true, we wouldn't see the obscene salaries of C-suite level execs skyrocket... That money cuts into the profits as well, you know?

They are ok squeezing their workers while giving themselves the sweet life on the company's dime

That's why activist investors that push companies to more ethical behaviour are important.

This is a fairy tale force, like Santa or the boogie man. You'll never get ethical behavior from profit seeking entities

Good to know .. I have honestly kept away from most social media after a stint in Reddit that pushed me here

I have never had a Facebook, insta, Google whatever social, tiktok, etc so I don't really get what people like there

Currently, the government can request any data they want from TikTok and they are obligated to provided it.

You mean exactly like all big tech in the USA?
