I haven’t tried it either, but watching the video it sounded like they were really trying to turn it around. At one point he even said something along the lines of "we will make the experience better". Felt weirdly non-marketing like. I was expecting an "even better".

I’m not that into ghostbusters to begin with, that was before my time ^^

What have you been mostly using them for if I may ask? And how much do you use them in general?

Wdym, you got one of them and you‘ve been enjoying it, but don’t like the potential privacy implications?

I get the trade of and it’s probably been the correct choice as I can’t imagine that specific theft affected a large portion of users. Still an odd place if you find yourself without your phone and soon after locked out of your digital life including you bank account and much more.

It’s great Apple is taking steps to improve the situation there.

The phone passcode, though, not your account password, which I still find an odd choice. All you need(ed) was the pin to unlock the phone to completely take over the entire account, including all your passwords and with it probably bank accounts, pictures, disabling find my, etc.

Haha yeah, I was wondering about that, too. Makes it sound like they’re unwilling to ship as long as there’s even a single bug in it, which is literally impossible. It has to be something bad, but not so big that it can’t be fixed in a few days.

Yeah that’s the problem with apples apps, they get one release and then varying degrees of updates once a year. But most of them keep getting better and if they work for you they’re a great option. I went back to Notes, reminders and keychain and I’m quite happy, but not entirely happy ^^

I guess we can hope for an update in a year and if we‘re lucky it gets what we’d like to have.

I’m assuming this is a topic for Lemmy and not for Voyager. Sounds like it would make sense, though.

Haha I agree with the downvotes, the article title isn’t great, especially next to the RE4 release and the fact that it’s exclusive to quest. That said, it’s probably true that it’ll be the longest/biggest Vr game this year judging from their 130h play time (which doesn’t mean it’ll be the best game).

I played this during the beta and it’s quite nice. The review mentions the mixed reality mode being useless which I disagree with. Since it uses such a big playspace it’s nice to see the floor and walls.

Yeah you have some good points there. The coat had its issues as well, I just think it was such a neat and unique way of storing things and perfect for the character.

RE8’s VR cutscenes were definitely not a perfect solution, but they didn’t put me out of the experience the same way a 2D video does. It could’ve at least been a 3D video.

What VR mechanics are you talking about specifically? When I think of mechanics I mostly think of (object-) interactions and RE4 has basically just shooting, press button to pick up and 2D menus (over simplified ^^). I basically never play PC VR, but Quest has some great games with some awesome native VR mechanics.

Just to stress it again: pretty sure RE4 is an awesome game and I’ll definitely play it, but it still is a port and has a bunch of shortcomings because of that. Mostly mechanics as I see it (although mechanics is most likely a lot more than just object interaction).

TL;DR: Tumblr is discontinuing its Post Plus feature, allowing creators to charge for content, starting December 1st. This decision follows a leaked memo about downsizing due to struggles in meeting usage and revenue targets. Post Plus, introduced in 2021, didn't meet expectations, leading to its discontinuation. Existing Post Plus content will be private from January 2024, and creators can't produce new Post Plus content. Tipping will remain, but the future of Blaze, the sponsored post feature, is uncertain. It’s also still 40% off with code BFCM23 until the 28th
